Setting up an area for a corporate event with sustainable solutions

The green style of the communities of the future

Green fittings in cardboard will save the world!… or at least lend a big hand in reducing wastefulness in the organisation of events and fairs and in raising public awareness of virtuous behaviour that can help protect the health of our planet. But to do this we need everyone’s contribution, from the individual citizen to the large companies that can be an important driving force with their work and example. There are many companies today that have converted or are in the process of converting their policies towards sustainable activities that involve not only their own corporate structure but also their entire clientele.

Kumavision a stand between play and reality

The company Kumavision was an example of this, asking us to create stands that between play and reality could convey the quality of the technology they disseminate experienced in real life. It was exciting for us to accept this challenge. The project was entrusted to us by the German agency Ke Communication which in the preparatory phase gave us a convincing explanation of the reasons for the required fittings. Kumavision is one of the largest Microsoft partners for medium-sized companies in German-speaking countries and specialises in digitising business processes through highly competitive software. In the context of the annual Customer Forum in Stuttgart, the company wanted to offer its consumers a real experience by interacting directly with Microsoft’s technology in a real context reconstructed with cardboard sets. A backdrop depicting Hamburg’s Speicherstadt department store district was created and small shops were reconstructed using the theme of spices, typical of the market, in which to interact with technological tools. Underlying the whole set-up is the concept that technology innovates business processes by making them agile and increasing the competitiveness of companies in increasingly dynamic markets by integrating them with real-life requirements. Decisive for the success of this innovative entertainment were the simple, modular design of our set-ups, the sustainability of the material used and the novelty of the idea.

The Making of Arrangements

The realisation of the installations started with the design of 8 different thematic stations, each representing a different spice and differentiated by colour and size. On this occasion for the first time we were able to successfully test a new stand construction technique in cardboard designed by the experts at Natur Design which allows our structures to be installed very easily and independently thanks to a patented assembly system and simple instructions. This is a great advantage when it comes to trade fair or event set-ups, especially if the event is organised, as in this case, in a country far away from where the stand is produced, with considerable cost savings for the end customer.

Each workstation has 2-metre high back walls decorated with digital ecological prints and enhanced by reception desks from the Vago 120 L series with laminate tops. Each station was made in the colour of the spice represented. To make the spaces comfortable and cosy, ecological cardboard furniture was added, such as the Ortles Plus cross tables, chairs from the Taviela line and various custom-made displays.

An educational experience that further strengthens our conviction that our company is going in the right direction by translating our know-how into innovative and useful ideas. A hospitable atmosphere, an unexpected space, a message of green solidarity that satisfied customers and conveyed positive value that was reflected throughout the company.

“With Nardi Mobili we were fully convinced not only by the sustainable design of the cardboard exhibition stands, but also by the personal support and short delivery times. Our customers were enthusiastic about the innovative concept’.
