How to strengthen your sustainable image with an ecological stand design

What do the world of e-commerce, the world of digital transformation and a cardboard stand have in common? The commitment to create new and simple solutions to move ideas and things through the use of modern technology and creativity but with the clear and strong intention of reducing the impact of their activities on the environment. And the opportunity to bring these three players together was provided by Locker inPost Italia,a forwarding company with the firm idea of sending parcels quickly and easily without impacting on the planet. In order to achieve this, InPost makes use of a system of strategically positioned Locker-distributors at key city locations with 24-hour availability. From these distributors, anyone who has ordered a parcel can conveniently collect it at any time without queues, procedures or paperwork. The use of Lockers thus contributes to reducing traffic jams and noise associated with transport and, consequently, to limiting carbon dioxide emissions by up to 95% and fuel consumption by more than 21 million litres per year!

And such a forward-looking and responsible company certainly cannot shy away from the challenges that the e-commerce world poses for the future. Technology, sustainability, innovation, challenges and more were discussed at the Forum Netcomm 2023 at the Allianz Mi.Co in Milan organised in May by the Consorzio Netcomm, a company that has long aimed to be a point of reference for the promotion and development of e-commerce and the digital evolution of companies, also by organising meetings such as this one that bring together the different realities of the sector.

InPost was present at the event with an innovative and environmentally friendly cardboard stand designed and built especially for the occasion to reinforce its commitment in line with its sustainable image. On this occasion, the company also launched a new, modern, colourful and impressive communication campaign.

Designing and making a cardboard stand

Designing and realising a cardboard stand for this event was easy and fun for us at Natur Design, thanks also to the customer’s common purpose and clear, detailed instructions.

First rule: innovation and eco-design. Not a regular, anonymous stand, but a unique realisation that attracts the eye of the beholder with the positive message of sustainability and the responsibility to use an environmentally friendly material such as cardboard in one’s own promotional activities.

The cardboard stand designed for InPost revolves around a central wall that divides two areas with different functionalities. These are connected to each other through an opening that acts as an imaginative portal through which one passes from the reception area to the in-depth analysis of the services offered. The first area is equipped with a corner counter from the Galambra series made of cardboard panels reinforced at the front by vertically-mounted shaped elements to reinforce the counter’s load-bearing structure and with the internal panel structure left exposed as a decorative element. The back of the counter is bordered by a panel decorated with customised digital prints. On the opposite side of the counter, in the same reception area, is one of their Lockers for demonstration purposes. A series of custom-made display cubes decorated with company prints and logos completes this area.

The other area of the stand is dedicated to in-depth information for those interested in the services that the company offers and is at the back bounded by the exhibition wall. In the same style as the first one, this one is fitted out to be more cosy and intimate with matching seats and tables from the Ortles series with laminate tops and comfortable upholstery in ecological cotton. We also custom-built a TV cabinet with storage and display shelves on which a giant screen projected a series of images and messages from the new communication campaign. The special feature of this part is a corner bordered by a circular structure decorated externally with cardboard tubes and concealing within it a small realx area furnished with a custom-made shaped cardboard bench and a low service table.

The entire cardboard stand was customised with certified high-definition ecological digital prints and the prominent colour is yellow, warm and welcoming, modern and striking like the company’s entrepreneurial spirit. As this realisation demonstrates, it is possible to maintain an environmentally friendly spirit and disseminate one’s communication in an appealing way without sacrificing style, all thanks to natural cardboard.
