Last year we were contacted by the municipality of Rapino, in the province of Chieti, for a supply of cardboard office furniture. The project was part of the renovation and energy efficiency work in the attic of the town hall. The idea was to recover an unused space, enhancing it and turning it into a workshop of projects and ideas for citizens. The architects and the mayor therefore decided to aim for a layout that was green in every aspect: high-efficiency heating systems, low-energy lighting, but also ecological furniture. Hence the decision to focus on cardboard furniture to create an innovative yet warm, inclusive and welcoming environment.

All the furniture was created in Havana-coloured triple-wave cardboard and, as can be seen in the photos, was used to create a meeting room, a reception room and some workstations. Tables and desks were supplemented with glass shelves with stabilised lichen grafts visible in transparency. The same lichen was also used as a decorative element with Rames design pictures. Various models of cardboard office furniture were used, including the Otro table, Ventina chairs, sofas and armchairs from the Golliaz line.

The Mayor tells us about the energy efficiency and eco-furniture project chosen by the municipality

And we can only be honoured by the best possible testimonial to prove the validity of this project, namely the words of the same Mayor of RapinoDr. Rocco Micucci, who in the video below explains how the project was conceived and how it made it possible to create a innovative and environmentally sustainable office.
