How to turn an exhibition area into a green corner?

Your trade fair goes green with a cardboard stand

Can a stand contribute to making a fair more environmentally friendly? Teco, a leading Italian refrigeration technology company, could tell us about this. The company chose a natural cardboard display to enhance its communication and increase the sustainable value of its corporate image.

At the Chillventa trade fair in Nuremberg, the company commissioned us to create an environmentally friendly stand to promote their product on the world market. International trade fairs are always tasty opportunities to present yourself to the world and lay your essence bare. To do this to the best of your ability and to differentiate yourself from the competition, you need the right idea and a well-organised space to present yourself.

Conceiving, designing, realising

Conceiving, designing and realising are the essential steps that lead to the material realisation of an ecological trade fair stand. For this project, the starting point was the feeling of welcome and warmth that a customer expects to find when visiting a trade fair. Isn’t a stand an ideal extension of part of the corporate structure itself? And that is how we conceived it. The bare area set-up consists of a back wall formed by decorative panels interspersed with connecting columns; we then created a closed cage concealing a service compartment positioned at some distance from the back wall so as to leave sufficient space for a discreetly concealed seating area to welcome customers. This space was furnished with cardboard armchairs from the Crava series and Ortles tables. The front of the cage was decorated with a print identifying the company and surmounted by a panel decorated with natural lichen to enhance the sense of sustainability of the exhibition environment. Bespoke displays were placed on the side consisting of a vertical panel decorated with non-toxic digital prints and a cube-shaped base that serves as a seat or display surface. The front of the stand was occupied by a reception desk from the Losa E series with an ecological laminate top surrounded by a series of stools from the Ortles S Plus line with upholstered seats. Finally, the exhibition area is closed off on the two front sides by relaxation corners bordered by low panels printed with the company logo and colours and furnished with sofas and tables from the Golliaz line.

A decorative and functional cardboard stand

A cardboard stand is an element decorative no doubt, but also functional. The versatility of the material makes it possible to create the most diverse shapes to suit the customer’s creativity and imagination; it does not require extensive machining, but only the design and cutting of the panel, which is done with modern precision technology and pre-assembled by hand. Natural cardboard is an environmentally friendly material and its lightweight properties allow for easy movement of the structure and equally easy assembly, which, in the case of smaller stands, can be done independently without time-consuming and costly operations. It is precisely because of these characteristics that a cardboard display is also super functional because it fits like a glove to the company’s image, conveying its messages naturally and effectively.
