A sustainable set-up for the promotion of technological innovation

Smeralda Consulting surprised everyone at Sinnova 2017 by using an eco-friendly cardboard set-up to demonstrate that innovation passes through ethical and ecological choices.

Smeralda Consulting & Associati is an Italian company that has been operating in the field of specialised consultancy to both proven companies and public administration for over fifteen years. On the occasion of the fourth edition of Sinnova, the exhibition of innovations in Sardinia, we were commissioned to create a sustainable stand in line with the theme of the event. Private companies and public bodies met in the Manifattura Tabacchi building in the beautiful city of Cagliari to hold workshops, conventions and round tables to compare ideas for new development strategies for the future of the region of Sardinia. A sustainable space for a conscious future

Thinking of a space that was sustainable in order to arrive at a future aware of the changes taking place and how important it is for everyone to do their part was a challenge. It was about innovation, and the actors involved in the event were and still are the architects of fair and equitable social and economic development for all. Many universities attended and local administrations supported the projects for the various sectors. We therefore thought of shaping the volumes by giving them a very futuristic style while maintaining an indispensable green soul. The eco-friendly set-up covered many areas of the available space. The most characteristic elements were the walls of the various stands of the universities in the region that were present, which in some cases acted as real backdrops in others as simple partitions in front of which consoles or stations were placed for meeting visitors. On some stands these walls curved in space, distorting into a vault of imaginative pixels, against the background of which the company logo was composed. The central info point where visitors were welcomed at the entrance was made with console counters from the Vagoin series white cardboard and printed event logo. The individual workstations included a cube-shaped bench made to measure for the occasion and stools from the Soi series. The conference space was furnished with armchairs from the Golliaz series with corresponding tables, Soi Pluse stools and audience chairs from the Taviela line.

To embellish the space, structures made up of interlocked, coloured cubes, indicative banners and cardboard boxes of the event’s mascot robot were created.
