On the crest of a wave with an ecological set-up

How to be recognisable with a cardboard display

Venice Boat Show

Arsenale - Venezia

An ecologically designed stand can be that detail that marks the boundary between being noticed and being ignored during a prestigious event like the Venice Boat Show.

We started from this concept when we designed the layout of Generali Assicurazioni. The well-known leading insurance prevention company decided to promote its business by identifying the Boat Show as a fertile ground for meeting new partners and customers. The show was held in the historic Arsenal in the beautiful Venetian lagoon and is one of the leading international boat shows that attracts the excellence of international shipbuilding every year. This year, the theme of environmental sustainability was particularly felt, and great emphasis was placed on design and technologies moving in this direction.

The first impact is what counts

During an event or trade fair that welcomes a large audience, the first impact is what counts. That is why it is important to design the space with attention to detail. The client agency opted for an innovative and unusual ecological design that would strike a chord in the centre. The colour red certainly helped in this respect, but in order not to make the environment too heavy, we opted for a stand that was more of an open area in which to insert decorative elements that, despite their linearity, were able to attract the eye. The space was delimited by a series of roll-up panels describing the services the agency offers and the values behind their work. At the back is a partition wall with the winged lion logo printed in white, which continues laterally into a service room carefully camouflaged in the environment. In the centre of the space, furniture made of laminated cardboard has been arranged, the structure of which is deliberately left exposed as an impressive decorative element. In particular, we chose chairs from the Taviela series and Cadini C tables, all customised in colour. A reception Losa E counter surrounded by Ortles S Plus high stools completes the set-up.
