At events like trade shows, the first few seconds make all the difference. Your stand can either go unnoticed or become a magnet capable of stopping visitors, creating curiosity, and enhancing the value of the product on display. It is with this vision that NaturDesign designed and produced a custom cardboard display in the shape of an excavator for Sir Meccanica Spa, a company specialized in the manufacture of custom mechanical tools, presented during Samoter 2026.
The objective was not simply to display technical tools, but to transform them into the main protagonists of the exhibition space through a scenographic solution, consistent with the earthmoving machinery sector and perfectly aligned with the brand’s identity.
Every effective project stems from a concrete question: how can we make the trade show presence of a technical and highly specialized company memorable?
In the case of sir meccanica, the answer came through a shared design process, developed step by step together with the customer. from the initial idea to the graphics, up to the structural tests and assembly trials, everything was studied to achieve a precise, realistic and functional result.
This approach represents the true value of designing custom POS displays: listening to display needs, interpreting the product and transforming it into a communication tool.
Why limit yourself to a classic display stand when it is possible to create an element capable of immediately telling the company’s sector of belonging?
The core of the project is a large excavator made of cardboard in real dimensions. a structure designed not only to amaze, but to enhance the mechanical tools on display with a strong scenographic effect.
The lower part of the custom cardboard POS display reproduces the tracks of the machine. to achieve a realistic result we used a combination of specific materials: 1.5 mm triple-wall cardboard for the load-bearing structure and cartù, a special corrugated cardboard characterized by small natural waves that perfectly simulate the texture of metal tracks.
The upper part was instead designed with shaped elements dedicated to the display of sir meccanica tools and completed by the excavator’s driver’s cabin.
The final result demonstrates how much cardboard can become a technical, scenographic and highly versatile material when processed with experience. and this is precisely where design makes the difference: not just aesthetics, but the ability to transform a sustainable material into a high-impact display solution.
In trade show marketing, attracting visitors to the booth is a concrete necessity. according to various event industry analyses, original setups that are consistent with the brand significantly increase visitors’ dwell time in the exhibition space and improve brand recall.
A project like this demonstrates how design displays can become true visual communication tools. those who visit a technical booth expect competence and precision, but when they also find originality and design care, the experience changes completely.
The bright blue color used for the excavator graphics immediately recalls sir meccanica’s visual identity and strengthens brand recognition within the trade show.
How much does it matter to stand out in events like Samoter today? a lot. in crowded exhibition spaces, visual impact becomes an integral part of the commercial strategy.
In addition to the aesthetic effect, the project was developed to also respond to very precise practical needs. trade show setups in fact require structures that are easy to transport, quick to assemble and simple to manage during setup days, which are often characterized by tight deadlines and congested logistics.
The lightness of the cardboard allowed for the creation of a structure that is practical to handle and assemble, without sacrificing stability and visual impact.
This is one of the reasons why more and more companies choose eco-friendly POS displays and custom cardboard solutions. in addition to being recyclable and compatible with the principles of the circular economy, cardboard allows for the reduction of logistics costs, installation times and material waste.
Creating a custom POS display like the one designed for Sir Meccanica requires technical experience, design capability and an in-depth knowledge of materials.
As display manufacturers, at NaturDesign we develop solutions designed to combine aesthetics, functionality and sustainability. each project stems from a direct collaboration with the client and takes shape through research, prototyping and custom manufacturing.
Because today a display must not only support a product: it must enhance it, tell its story and transform it into an experience capable of leaving a mark.
Do you want to create a custom display capable of attracting attention at trade shows and truly enhancing your brand? NaturDesign designs custom cardboard displays by combining design, sustainability and functionality to create original, high-impact visual solutions.
